Objection Handling

Last updated 08/10/2026 by Anna Weber

This page is for real objections raised in discovery, demos and negotiations. Short cold-call deflections stay on the Cold Calling page.

7.1 How to handle a real objection
  • Acknowledge: Show that the concern is reasonable without conceding the deal.
  • Clarify: Ask what sits behind the objection and who else shares it.
  • Respond: Use the buyer’s situation and agreed outcomes, not generic claims.
  • Advance: Agree a concrete next step, owner and date.

The groundwork

The playbook is the groundwork of your whole company

Every coaching moment and every automated task starts from it. So it has to exist, and it has to stay current. Taskbase takes both jobs off the sales leader.

  1. 01

    Written with you, fast

Taskbase brings what it knows about discovery and cold calls, the sales process and qualification. You add what is yours. Two hours, not months.

  2. 02

    Updates arrive on their own

New objections, questions and competitors from real calls become proposals with the evidence. The owner only has to accept.

  3. 03

    One playbook, many versions

Different playbooks for countries and languages, and the right areas for each role, because Taskbase reads your org chart.

An update, step by step

A new objection comes in. The playbook answers it.

A buyer raises something your playbook does not cover yet. Taskbase turns it into a proposed answer, and the owner decides.

Suggestion i

“How is this different from connecting everything to ChatGPT and just asking the same questions myself?”

“A one-off answer works. Taskbase keeps a maintained system: your playbook plus real calls, written back to the CRM, so coaching builds up instead of resetting.”

Don’t argue model quality. Move from a one-off answer to a system that compounds.

RejectAccept

Based on

New objection from a discovery call on 15 Sep. Proposed row for the objection table.

A proposed playbook update with the evidence behind it. Names and content are fictional.

  • The new objection is spotted in a real call, here: “we can build this with Claude”.
  • Taskbase shows where it came from, and proposes the answer and the guidance.
  • The owner accepts, and the playbook is updated.
  • Coaching and automation use it from then on, with no extra work.

Complexity, handled

Countries, languages and roles in one place

Keep a playbook per country and language. Taskbase knows from your org chart which parts matter to which person, so SDRs, account executives, account managers and customer success each get their own areas.

Playbook

One playbook, the right part for each role

Taskbase reads your org chart and knows who needs which area.
