If someone talks about agents, ask what you have to build
An agent that does one little thing means a complicated system that gives you one feature at a time. That is a lot to set up, and a lot to learn.
They all started with recording calls, and today they all build agents. Taskbase is one AI coach that does the work, with the agents already working in the background.
All of them record or analyse conversations and add features and agents on top. Many teams keep their recorder and add Taskbase on top of it.
The category is changing
Revenue AI platforms built their first features years ago, and today each one adds agents. An agent does one small thing, and you have to set it up, connect it and maintain it. AI-first software works differently: one AI that does all of it, with the agents already there in the background. You do not choose them, you do not build them, and you do not have to know which agents exist.
An agent that does one little thing means a complicated system that gives you one feature at a time. That is a lot to set up, and a lot to learn.
In Slack, Microsoft Teams, Google Chat or the web app, the AI is always the first point of access. There is no huge platform to learn: Taskbase teaches you how to use it.
Standard views for every use case come out of the box. Teams fine-tune them over time, so reps come back more and learn more.
01 · Use cases
| Revenue AI platforms & recording tools | Taskbase | |
|---|---|---|
| Call review and summaries | Covered | Covered |
| Event prospecting: ICP-fit leads and contact data, from a day to 30 minutes | Not covered | Covered |
| Daily call list, prioritised by email opens, site visits and CRM signals | Not covered | Covered |
| New lead search with emails and phone numbers | Often via a third party | Covered |
| Meeting briefing from CRM, sales rooms and playbook, pushed to Slack | Recordings only | Covered |
| Coaching from account history, rep skill level and your playbook | One call only | Covered |
| Decks, business cases, RFPs, security questionnaires and sales rooms | Not covered | Covered |
| Cross-sell prompts and compliance checks | Not covered | Covered |
| CRO reporting: any dashboard in seconds, not bound to the CRM | Not covered | Covered |
Why coverage drives adoption: reps expect AI to answer everything. After a few weak answers, they stop asking. When every question gets a good answer, reps use it all day.
02 · Outcomes
Can you measure it?
| Revenue AI platforms & recording tools | Taskbase | |
|---|---|---|
| How reps use it, with a built-in engagement view | Typically not built in | Built in |
| Time saved per rep, with a built-in time-saved view | Typically not built in | Built in |
| Behaviour change across calls, not one-call snapshots | Typically not built in | Built in |
| Skill improvement against results: revenue, meetings, conversion, onboarding | Typically not built in | Built in |
A quick test: ask a few reps which recording-tool features they use, and whether the feedback makes them better.
03 · Vision
Example: you introduce SPICED. Here is what it takes to roll it out everywhere.
An interface every rep can shape
Adoption depends on fit. When every rep shapes their own view, they keep using it.
04 · Capture and privacy
| Revenue AI platforms & recording tools | Taskbase | |
|---|---|---|
| Online calls without a bot: nothing joins the call, less change management | Mostly a bot | Covered |
| Physical meetings, recorded with the app | Limited | Covered |
| Phone calls on iPhone and Android, incoming and outgoing | Rarely | Covered |
| Pseudonymised transcripts, replaced before storage | Not covered | Enterprise plan, additional fee |
How pseudonymisation works: names, birthdays, cities and companies are replaced before storage. Only the changed transcript is stored, and a separate code restores the real names when needed. It is built for European enterprises and makes it easier for data protection teams to approve Taskbase. If your recorder works, keep it: Taskbase connects to Gong, Kickscale and others.
